Fundraisers take many forms, but for Bob Agnello, the great ones all have a twist. As the owner of multiple Philly Pretzel Factory franchises throughout New Jersey, including his Howell Plaza Shopping Center location, Bob helps local schools, youth organizations and community events reach their goals through his pretzel fundraising program.
“Making donations to every organization isn’t feasible,” explains the former corporate finance director. “Instead, I sell my pretzels to them at a deep discount so that community groups can make a profit from selling as much or as little as they want.”
Pretzels are a fun, recognizable food that kids and adults will buy, especially for a good cause. Over the years, Bob suspects that he’s helped many nonprofits to their fundraising goals of generating monies for sports team uniforms, school supplies and other needs.
Touring the Factory
Bob also welcomes local school groups and youth organizations into his factory for tours. The hands down favorite highlight is twisting, baking and eating their own pretzels fresh from the oven.
Custom Orders: All Shapes and Sizes
When you think pretzels from now on, think creatively because Bob’s Philly Pretzel Factory can do just about any shape. Schools have used his custom pretzels (123s and ABCs) as edible teaching tools. With a day or so of advance notice for smaller orders or a longer lead time for a large one, you can be the talk of the town with: heart-shape wedding favors, Halloween bats & “boo,” turkeys, candy canes, menorahs, hearts with pink/4ed buttercream, a sweet “16” and virtually any other shape you think of!
And, there’s no minimums – you can even order just one. Call owner Bob or manager Dana at (732) 994-5554 to share your ideas and find out prices for the more complicated designs.
