HOWELL, NJ – A new locally-owned smoothie and juice bar is slated to move into Howell Plaza later this month.

Ready Set Juice will open its first brick-and-mortar store in a 1,1000-square-foot space at 4134 U.S. Route 9 South on April 30. The shop, which is set to feature a wide array of natural juices, protein shots and smoothies as well as seasonal wraps and salad, will be open Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m.

The store is owned and operated by the Monmouth County-based husband-and-wife team of Johnny and Mangeli Rodriquez, the former owners of Freehold’s Semper Fit boxing gym which closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the Rodriquezes are continuing their mission of providing nourishing health and fitness services to the region with Ready Set Juice.

“It’s too easy to overeat salty and sugary foods, especially during this stressful time,” Johnny said in a statement. “I want folks to make new habits that nourish the soul and body.”

As Johnny himself is a volunteer firefighter and former marine, Ready Set Juice will offer discounts to first responders, military personnel and veterans. The juice store will be offering a 25 percent off discount on smoothies and juices on April 30 for all customers.

Hours of operation will be as follows:

Monday – Saturday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
