A 900-foot stretched across the length of the Howell Plaza on Friday morning as one of the largest shopping centers in Howell celebrated a grand reopening of one of its largest tenants.

The Sears Hardware Store, now under new ownership is looking forward to a busy weekend with special deals as they celebrate their grand opening. With Mayor Robert Walsh, members of the Howell PAL and other local business owners in attendance a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the shopping center on Friday morning kicking off the festivities.

Today’s event includes free food from Chick-fil-A, free raffles, clowns and balloons for the kids to enjoy. There will also be representatives from the armed forces showing off some of their equipment.

For those looking to bring home a four legged friend the SPCA will also be at the event looking to play matchmaker with those in attendance. All the fun starts at 10 a.m. this morning and is scheduled to run until 4 p.m.
